General Conference Weekend Wrap-up

Mon, April 4, 2011 7:45:15 PM

Well, the temple in Nicaragua wasn´t announced but it will be soon. I think the elders that are about to go home took it pretty hard. But it´s all good!

This weekend was special. Conference didn´t affect me quite as powerfully as it did last time, but i left it with a feeling of general peace. This whole weekend was filled with great experiences which i think may have trumped conference itself. I look forward to studying it more thoroughly though. My questions were not answered but once I go back and study what I read I will find what I´m searching for.

We practically dragged a less active teen out of bed to come to conference and it turned out that he received inspiration and an answer that he had needed for a very long time, and not only did he return for the Sunday afternoon session, but he brought his family as well. He thanked us for the day and for always being there for him.

Martin went to his first priesthood session and walked out with words declaring that he knew without a doubt that this is the only true church on the face of the planet and that he would continue active in it for the rest of his life.

A less active recent convert that always has to be pulled to church ended up staying for the afternoon session as well, skipping lunch.

A family that had some doubts and didn´t want to get married and some other stuff gained testimonies that the church was true, now want to be married, and are very excited to be baptized soon. They not only came to the Saturday conferences we´d brought them to, but returned for Sunday as well.

Another family we are teaching told us that they feel a change is about to come into their life. A good one.

I have felt good. Bad or sad things also happened this weekend but we are focusing on the good. There have been sad times recently but we are seeing the Lord´s hands in things. Now all we gotta’ do is put in our part to give them strength to endure on.

The quote that I liked the most from conference was ´The Lord keeps the promises He inspires His prophets to declare.´ And I know that to be true. Christ Lives.
